A Quick Background on Modern Japan

Japan is a very neat place. It combines modern technology with old customs to make a modern, but traditional culture. Mountains, volcanoes, and forests scatter the nearly 7000 islands. Japan also contains the biggest city in the world, Tokyo--which has 13 million people, not including close districts, which are sometimes counted in the number. Japan also has a very nice standard of living. There are many places to shop, just like in the U.S., but many shops are different, such as the popular clothing store Uniqlo. There are different holidays, like Golden Week, where different things are remembered. Lastly, media is different in Japan, with manga, music, and movies, but quite a bit of their media comes from the U.S.
